Salamon - The Gallery

Matteo Salamon
Salamon Gallery

Established in 1950, for over 60 years the Salamon gallery has been a reference point for collectors and enthusiasts of old master paintings and drawings.

Managed today by the third generation of its founding family, the gallery stands out for the extreme attention in the selection of the works of art, where the quality, the provenance, the importance of the sequence of ownership and the excellence of the state of conservation are fundamental requirements.

Moreover, the gallery is available for the collectors who intend to sale or purchase artworks, or appraise the paintings and drawings of their collections.

The gallery assists the clients not only in acquisitions, but also in treatments aimed at the conservation and valorization of the works of art. Enthusiasts are offered the possibility of discussing with scholars to fully understand the reasons of the intrinsic historic value of the single items through accurate scientific essays; clients also receive advices on the restoration operations needed to conserve and better appreciate the works of art.

Lastly, the gallery is available to carry out appraisals for insurance purposes. The exhibition halls are located in the piano nobile of the historic Palazzo Cicogna, in the heart of Milan, and are the ideal place to view the paintings and drawings displayed in a calm and discreet environment. It is preferable to schedule an appointment in order to offer the clients the greatest attention and full collaboration.

Furthermore, the private library, one of Italy’s richest and up-to-date, is at the disposal of collectors, scholars and colleagues (on the premises and by appointment).
